PAINTINGS FOR ANTS

Project 365 was born in 2013, when Cape Town artist, Lorraine Loots challenged herself to see if she could create a miniature painting everyday for an entire year. Each day she painted a different theme; a painting so tiny that they dwarfed the tools she used to make them. Loots playfully called it Paintings for Ants.

Project 365 grew into Postcards for Ants – a new series of paintings that reflect images of her hometown. The project is slated to continue through 2014 – that still leaves plenty of time for you to join in. You can book a original painting at Loots’ website and make a suggestion of at least 5 themes/places/ideas that are directly related to Cape Town.

You can dig deeper into her work on Instagram, Tumblr and her website.
